Aphidius ervi
Controls:
Aphidius ervi is a parasitic wasp that is used to control larger aphids in greenhouse environments. It is efficient against large aphid species such as the potato aphid Macrosiphum euphorbiae and the foxglove aphid Aulacorthum solani, and hemp aphid.
Application Rate Recommendations for Aphidius ervi:
- Preventative: 1 adult per 20-100 square feet. 250 mummies are sufficient for 5,000-25,000 square feet. The dose rate may be increased 5-fold for hot spots. It is recommended that you introduce Aphidius ervi weekly for at least 3 weeks. Monitor weekly for the brown mummified aphids
- Moderate Infestation: 5-10 per square foot. Use 2-4 adults per plant or 1-2 mummies per square foot of growing area.
- Heavy Infestation: 10-20 per square foot. Use 4-6 adults per plant or 2-3 mummies per square foot of growing area.
How-To Use Aphidius ervi For Best Results:
- Aphidius ervi should be released when aphid infestations are just beginning as control will be easier to achieve early in the aphid population’s growth.
- When pruning leaves, check for parasitized aphids (brown mummies). If mummies are present, keep these leaves in the greenhouse until new parasites emerge
Features & Benefits:
- Use this aphid parasite to prevent outbreaks of larger aphid species in greenhouse environments.
- Aphidius ervi will consume all types of larger aphids.
- It also parasitizes Myzus persicae var. nicotianae, as well as aphids such as Sitobion sp., Schizaphis sp., Rhodobium sp., Acyrthosiphon pisum, and others.

Shipping & Returns
Shipping & Returns
Because we ship live insects and want them to arrive to you as freshly as possible, we only ship Monday through Wednesday. This means your shipment will arrive Tuesday through Thursday, possibly Friday if there are any unforeseen delays such as bad weather. Since FedEx does not ship over the weekend, we do not want insects to sit in a fulfillment center where they have a greater chance of not arriving to your garden fresh-as-can-be.
